Predestination Movie Review : The snake that eats its own tail. (Spoiler free)

This movie must be the most under rated movie of the year. The people who watched had only this to talk about for the next week and the people who didn't, could not be convinced enough without revealing any plot.

I remember telling my friends to watch this movie right after they get home and all I could say is, your brain will be sucked into the portal of this movie. This amazing piece of art got into my brain and laid eggs of awesomeness.

This movie, apart from its multi layers, depth and amazing character development not only used the science part so perfectly but also put on the best screen play and story telling that came after a long time.

The use of time travel was something we have not seen before. The character story was something no one else has thought about before and no one ever will without compromising the copyrights. Basically its the movie adaptation of a novel All You Zombies that came in July 11, 1958 written by Robert A. Heinlein.

A passage in the novel,

“Then I glanced at the ring on my finger.

The Snake That Eats Its Own Tail, Forever and Ever. I know where I came from—but where did all you zombies come from?

I felt a headache coming on, but a headache powder is one thing I do not take. I did once—and you all went away.

So I crawled into bed and whistled out the light.

You aren’t really there at all. There isn’t anybody but me—Jane—here alone in the dark.

I miss you dreadfully!”

The title of the movie may confuse some as they think that, "Some things in life are inevitable" is the appropriate description for the title. True as it may, only partial, but after watching the whole movie, the audience understands. This requires a thinking cap, attention as you must say. The movie never explains the plot in pure words but the audience has to notice the hints and clues and has to put the one and one together. That is what sucks the people into this movie. The audience is there along with the ride, to feel the pain, inevitability and gravity of love. Its same to be put on the shelf with Inception and Interstellar. This in itself remarks how under rated this movie is. A must watch.

The movie starts with Ethan Hawke behind the bar shelf when a man enters the bar and asks for drink. It had me wondering, Is that Sarah Snook? She played a very convincing man. The two engage in conversation, which I think is the best dialogues written in the year. The difference in opinions and perception about life. I would not spoil more. Please go watch it.

Overall, This movie puts a whirlpool in a brain which stays with you for a long time.
