Kevin Fiege says, 'Doctor Strange will start with sorcerer's origin, Rachel McAdams in a major role

It is clear therefore, the upcoming Marvel movie Doctor Strange set to release in November 4, 2016, will start with an origin story.

There was a confrontation scene in Marvel's The Captain America Winter Soldier when Jasper Sitwell reveals the name of the people Hydra been monitoring. Among the names of Bruce Banner and Tony Stark , he said Steven Strange.

This means, Stephen Strange is already active in Marvel Cinematic Universe and has already got its powers. Therefore, the movie will show the previous events of the Avengers and other Marvel Movies within Steven Strange to put the story up to pace.


Steven Strange is a new character that is set to debut in Marvel Phase 3 and is one of the most anticipated character, the famous sorcerer Doctor Strange. He plays a major role in the defeat of Thanos in the comic books and he is rumored to have one of the missing infinity stones (Soul gem or Time gem)

There have been lot of theories and speculations if the upoming movie will be about his origins or not, Kevin Fiege, president of Marvel Studios, confirmed that its all about the origin of the Master of the Mystic Arts, who once used to be a neurosurgeon.

During the DVD/ Blu-ray release of The Avengers Age of Ultron, Kevin Fiege said  that the origin story will be the prime plot of the upcoming movies that leads to Avengers Infinity Wars

"How you tell the origin, perhaps there are ways to twist it or play or with that, but for the most part, it's a gift when the comics have something with such clarity of story and character. That doesn't always happen in the comics, and when it does, you see it"

Ben Davis, director of photography said that, "Doctor Strange" is going to be dark and "psychedelic grounding". In a report, he also described the upcoming movie to be "Marvel Fantasia".

The lead role of Doctor Stephen Strange is going to be played by "Sherlock BBC" star Benedict Cumberbatch who is giving us Sherlock Victorian special this fall of 2015.

According to Reality today, Rachel McAdams is all set to join the cast. There is no information as to which role she would be playing. During the Toronto Film festival, Rachel hinted that her role is going to be "Psychedelic".

Further Kevin Fiege also stated that McAdams role is "big and significant" and "She represents certain point of view of the worlds that we experience in the movie".
According to the rumors, Rachel may play opposite to Cumberbatch, either his love Clea or Victorian Bentley. She could be the mystic student and author Morgana Blessing or the mystical enitity The Vishanti.
