TERMINATOR GENISYS Review : It should be EXTERMINATED!
Remember X-Men Days of future past? Who, so smartly got rid
of the previous two installments by deleting the timeline? Well This movie
(Terminator Genisys) does the same job but flushes the two very first installments
by James Cameron that we actually liked.
The Movie starts very good and fresh, reminds us of the
humanity being wiped out of the existence and shows how the Skynet is always
winning. I even liked Kyle Reese as his younger self but Jai Courtney is a real
miscast actor for Kyle Reese. He is emotionless and huge and should have been a
Robot in the movie, he would be perfect for T800.
Jason Clarke is a profound actor and does remarkable job of playing John Connor. Emilia Clarke is the most likable, puts a real effort into playing Sarah Connor (bow down to Khaleesi). She will surely get more projects.
Arnold! When I say Arnold is the best thing about this
movie, then you know that is the not a good movie in itself. It is very
nostalgic to see Arnold reprising his role as T800 and shows the best things
of Terminator 1 and 2.
Now the movie,
The premise is set in future where John Connor attacks
Skynet with his minions but Skynet manages to use his ultimate weapon (time
travel) to send T800 back to 1984. Therefore he has to send Kyle Reese to the
past to protect his mother. Same as every time, but this time Skynet realizes why
it always loses and does something different. That’s it! That’s the movie.
This is what actually happened during the production of the
movie. They started with a good script which was finished and then they edited it,
edited it again and again and now came up with a well crumbled plot which tries
to be too good and big which falls under its own weight.
The actions scenes were not remarkable or something you
would remember after you are finished with the movie. They clearly ran out of
budget for the CGI. The T1000 looked really bad than it did in Terminator 2,
how can that be? That was 24 years ago!
What they did with John Connor, turned him into Terminator
and gave us a new Villian, was just the first 78th thing wrong with the
movie.
I liked how J. K. Simmons was introduced in the movie, but
they wasted his character. They had the Doctor who in the movie, but Alas! Matt
Smith’s character had like 6 minutes and was wasted.
Overall, this movie should be seen drunk with friends or not
at all.
